    Meet at 10 am at Senior/Veterans/Community Center parking lot at St. Francis and Madison in Redwood City for a 10:15 departure. (To get there, exit off 280 on Farm Hill Blvd.  Go down the hill, continue on Jefferson.  Go right on St. Francis (1 block past Valota) which enters parking lot.)  The first climb is on Jefferson into Emerald Hills, then down again before the climb up Ralston at about mile 9.  After Ralston it is basically down or flat!--north into San Mateo.  We will wait for everyone at each regroup.  Lunch at Nini’s Cafe before getting on the Bay Trail at Coyote Point to return.  Ricki McGlashan (ricki@mcglashan.com650-344-8341).

    This is a series of evening rides varying from 15 to 30 miles in Los Altos Hills, Portola Valley and Saratoga, sampling local hills and out-of-the-way roads. Meet at Shoup Park in Los Altos at 6:00 PM, for a 6:10 PM departure. There are two ride group options: C/D and D/E, with routes suitable for each group. The routes vary each week, to take advantage of the available daylight. Every effort will be made to get riders back before dark, but bring lights just in case.     Meet Pam Putman at Bowers Park in Santa Clara off Cabrillo Rd. at 7:45 am for an 8 am start to ride to the Big Basin Cafe on Big Basin Way in Saratoga. There are some short, steep but walkable hills including, but not limited to, THE MUCH DREADED 4TH ST. HILL just after we leave the cafe. Bring some moola to treat yourself to breakfast or just coffee and pastry, should that be your preference. Come see who's sneaking a ride on Pam's helmet this month. Rain or threat of rain cancels.

    Join Jim and Lisa Burque for a social C pace ride from HMB up Tunitas, along Skyline, down to La Honda, returning via Stage Rd and Hwy 1.  Lunch at deli halfway through ride. Choice at 45 mile point to add a climb up Purisima before ending in HMB.  Shorter option continues on Hwy 1.     Meet Pam Putman at McKenzie Park off of Fremont Ave. in Los Altos at 7:45 am for an 8 am start to ride to Shoreline Park in Mtn. After breakfast we'll return by the same route. There are 3 bicycle/pedestrian overpasses and 3 bicycle/pedestrian tunnels on The Stevens Creek Trail.     The Monday morning ride for bicyclists who live in the northern cities of the Peninsula is growing in numbers. It is a flat (except overpasses) route to Café Borrone in Menlo Park for coffee and/or breakfast. We return at a social pace through the quiet, residential streets in Menlo Park, Atherton, Redwood City, San Carlos, and Belmont. The Hill Climbers’ Option adds 12 to 16 miles to the ride. Meet at Los Prados Park at 8:30 AM for a departure at 8:45 AM. Directions: From 101, drive east on Hillsdale Blvd., take the first right on Norfolk St. and right again on La Selva; take the first left onto Casa de Campo. The Park is on the left. Meet Tom Stephany at Rengstorff Community Center, 201 S. Rengstoriff Avenue, Mountain View.  Meet in the parking lot near the Community Center Building off of Rengstorff Avenue.  We'll meet at 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM departure for Café Borrone in Menlo Park.  Very flat, and we'll travel at a mild, social, and comfortable "A" pace.  Nobody left behind, we are in this together.  Rain cancels.     The Mike's Monday Madness Ride (aka "The Palo Alto Monday Night Ride of Awesomeness") is a 20-mile moderately-paced ride around Portola Valley and the Los Altos Hills. Join guest ride leaders and the staff of Mike's Bikes as we get out on the bike for a fun evening spin and some cycling camaraderie to shake the Monday blues. Meet at6:00 pm in front of Mike's Bikes, 3001 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, for a 6:15 pm roll. Mike's will host a free BBQ once a month following the ride---all are welcome to stay and eat!

    Join Ken Lum (lum40@comcast.net and 1-650-508-1879, Cell: 1-805-720-2912) at the Safeway parking lot at Sharon Park in Menlo Park off Sand Hill Rd. at 9:50 AM for a 10:05 AM departure for an easy going ride through Shoreline Park to the SETI Institute at 189 Bernardo Ave. in Mountain View for their weekly noon time talks on astronomy, physics and astrobiology. We will meet at the corner of the parking lot near the entrance across from the Shell gas station so as not to interfere with customer parking. This week's talk will be about "Gamma Ray Bursts and Recent Results from the Fermi Mission" by Peter Michelson, Stanford University. For more on the talk, visit the SETI web site at: www.seti.org. We will pick up lunch at the Subway sandwich shop in Mountain View to take to SETI. Anyone wanting to skip the lecture may return on their own via the route outlined on the route sheet.     Peter B. has now retired from leading this ride. In honor of his many years of dedicated service we have named the ride after him, and the immortal works of his ride description will be retained here, mostly intact. So here we go: Retired, home executive, between jobs, playing hooky? We’d love to have you join us each Tuesday during the year, rain or shine, at Starbucks in the Westmoor Shopping Center in Sunnyvale, corner of Fremont and Mary, at a later, civilized hour. The route is a variation of the Portola loop with lunch stops at various eating places in the Palo Alto area. There are hilly C and D routes as well as a flat route. All rides meet at 10:45 AM for a prompt 11:00 AM departure. The hilly route varies through the month. Routes in Excel and PDF format. Everyone assembles together at regroups and lunch.     Meet Tom Stephany (650-483-4273 day of ride only) at 10:00am at the parking lot across from Oracle in Redwood Shores for a fun ride at an "A" pace.  From highway 101, exit Marine Parkway (at Ralston) and go east. Take first turn left onto Oracle Parkway before the main Oracle Complex.  The parking lot will be on the left.  We will travel across the Oracle bike bridge to meet the Bay Trail in Foster City.  From there we follow the Bay Trail to Coyote Point.  Flat and paved all the way.  Lunch at the Poplar Creek Golf Course, bring or buy.  We return on the same trail.  Rain cancels.

    This ride takes cyclists along the shores of Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake, as well as both east and west climbs over Donner Summit. The century includes a lunch stop at Rainbow Lodge on the western slope, and pizza, beer, wine and music in Squaw Valley after the ride. In the evening we’ll take a dip in the spa and barbeque some munchies at David & Bonney’s ski cabin. We’ll also shoot pool, play board games, and listen to dance music. Optional activities on Friday and Sunday include hiking, moun­tain biking, golfing, and kayaking. Weekend lodging is available at modest rates at Palo Alto Ski Club cabin.
