2014 Sequoia Workers Rides

Registration

  • Starts in La Honda and takes Stage Road, Tunitas and Lower Lobitas.
  • Starts in La Honda and takes Stage Road, Tunitas and Upper Lobitas
  • This ride approximates the half century
  • This route approximates the Sequoia Metric Century route.
  • This route approximates the Sequoia Century Route, but eliminates Pescadero to avoid road race.
  • Volunteers who are not planning to ride, especially volunteers for the Workers' Ride, register here.

SEQUOIA WORKERS’ RIDES. (For Sequoia workers only!) JUNE 7th's workers’ rides and JUNE 8th's workers’ ride and picnic are to thank everyone who worked on the Sequoia Century (before, during, and after). Lunch will be provided for Sequoia workers on all routes. The longer rides are leaderless but riders are encouraged to stay together. Bring plenty of water, snacks, a wind jacket and sun screen as the weather could be foggy, hot, or probably both.

B/2.3(1690’)/28; C/2.6(2360’)/35 SEQUOIA WORKERS’ RIDES (modified route). Join us in La Honda (start, finish, and lunch). Enjoy the coastal section of the Sequoia route from La Honda to the Bike Hut on Tunitas (regroup). The shorter route will return on Lower Lobitas. The longer route will view Irish Ridge from Upper Lobitas and then take Verde Road to Higgins, turning left and returning via Hwys. 1 and 84.  Meet at 9:15 am for 9:30 am departure from La Honda. Park along Hwy. 84 across from La Honda stores. Lunch provided in La Honda. Ride open to Sequoia Volunteers only. BC/4/55 SEQUOIA WORKERS’ HALF CENTURY. For Sequoia volunteers only!Climbs Mount Eden, Pierce, and Big Basin Way to Saratoga Gap, goes north on Skyline, descends Alpine Road to La Honda, climbs to SkyLonda, and returns to Los Altos. CD/4/70 SEQUOIA WORKERS’ METRIC CENTURY. For Sequoia volunteers only!Climbs Redwood Gulch and Big Basin Way to Saratoga Gap, goes north on Skyline, descends Alpine Road to La Honda, continues to San Gregorio, climbs Tunitas Creek Road, descends Kings Mountain to Woodside, and returns to Los Altos. DE/4/88 SEQUOIA WORKERS’ CENTURY. For Sequoia volunteers only! Follows the Metric Century route and adds a loop to Half Moon Bay. (The official Sequoia Century also went to Pescadero, but we're skipping that today to avoid conflict with the Pescadero Road Race.)
