CAZADERO RAMBLE

C-/4(3700')/36;

C+D/4(5500+’)/50-82

Join us for some spectacular riding North of the Russian River. This is a hilly ride, following the routes of the Cazadero LDT. After wandering North along Austin Creek Road, C- riders will take the direct route to the coast over hilly Fort Ross Road (LDT B Route) then stop in at Fort Ross State Park, while the C+/D group(s) will climb the breath-taking King Ridge Rd, then have the option to take a 50, 66, or 82 mile loop. Bring food and enough water for 30 to 45 miles between facilities, as lunch stops are near the end of the ride.

ROUTE SHEET:  Cazadero BCDE

MEETING LOCATION: Meet at 9:15 am for 9:30 departure at Gold Coast Coffee & Bakery (25377 Steelhead Blvd, Duncans Mills, CA). Take 101 North to Santa Rosa, exit on River Rd heading West. Follow River Rd into Guerneville. Go straight at the stop sign in Guerneville. Note: In Guerneville River Rd becomes Main St, then Main St becomes River Rd/Hwy 116. Continue on River Rd/Hwy 116 to Duncans Mills. Turn Left on Moscow Rd. Park on the street - not in front of the merchants. Driving time from Palo Alto is about 2.5 hours.

ACCOMMODATIONS:  We have reserved a nice group campsite at Casini Ranch Campground (casiniranch.com) for Friday and Saturday nights, which is less than a mile from the Saturday ride start and only 2.5 miles from the Sunday start in Monte Rio (contact ride leaders for information/rates). There are several small hotels/B&B’s in Monte Rio (where Sunday ride starts). Occidental Hotel (3610 Bohemian Hwy, Occidental, CA) is about 10 miles away in Occidental (occidentalhotel.com).

Info: Mindy Steiner and Guy Shuman (shumansteiner@gmail.com or 650-704-0895).
