A great but difficult climb out of the high desert towards Mt. Whitney. The route starts out tame and ends up tough with an average grade over 9% for the last 5.5 miles finishing at Whitney Portal (el. 8,371’).  \Long stretches of 10-12%. Meet at the Best Western Frontier Motel, 1008 S. Main St., Lone Pine, CA. Buy lunch on the ride at Whitney Portal. Ride leaves at 8:30 AM, please arrive beforehand.
